Ireland.... just getting him here would be a story in itself! Wink

Maybe a story about an encounter with "reaL" pookas, banshees and the "wee-folk" (except real leps. would be over six feet tall with a kick-ass attitude-I think that would make Jack's day!).

We got to see a little of them in "An American Werewolf in Paris, but they are really quite extensive. I saw a program once that showed an entire room filled with bones. A recovered video camera shows the owner running away at breakneck pace. Mysterious and a great setting for "He Who Is Not To Be Named!"

My wife and I saw a program on these vast salt caves underneath the city of Prague. The artist's carved out beautiful artwork from salt giving it all a crystal look. It seems fitting that Jack could have a story in the city of the golem.....

Well, if you wanted to see some real Utah desert, the area around Green River, Utah has a lot to offer. It's around 180 miles south-south-east of Salt Lake City, and has some pretty spectacular desert scenery.

Twenty miles east of Green River on I-70. and around 20 miles south on state highway 191 (Moab) will bring you close to Arches National Monument, Goblin Valley, (where the desert scenes in Galaxy Quest were filmed) and a number of other very photographic desert areas.

Taking I-70 east from Green River for about 50 miles will take through you a lot of other pretty spectacular areas -- desolate, but spectacular. And you can see it all from your car.

I think Jack should visit New Orleans. I don't know if anybody lives there or has been there since the hurricane, but the city still need a lot of help. With the scenery still in disaray it could make an exciting backdrop for a cool adventure, and with New Orleans you et he whole voodoo element that could be tied into the Otherness. I remember when I visited back in July and there were so many different voodoo shops, or whatever you call them, stuck right in with all the other shops on bourbon street.

It has some pretty spectacular scenery that's for sure. However, just on Interstate 70, from about 60 miles east, to about 40 miles west of Green River, the scenery is also pretty amazing.

I've driven through that country about 30 times over the past year and a half, and I NEVER tire of looking at it.

Really rough, desolate, country -- and amazing rock formations not unlike Monument Valley!

Here's the Wikipedia link for Moab:

In the first photo, the background scenery is much like what you'd see travelling along I-70 east and west of Green River. In fact, if you drive from Salt Lake to Green river on the way to Moab, you'll see a lot of scenery very much like it.

As much as I love Colorado and the Rocky Mountains, I have to take my hat off to Utah.

How strange. Most people want Jack to visit someplace near where they live. Weird. Big Grin
