Obscure Jack reference - Noelie - 10-10-2006

Yeah, I actually looked this up a loooong time ago, because I vaguely recalled the rakshasa episode of Kolchak when I was reading The Tomb for the first time. I thought it was really neat and I was so proud of myself for making that connection. Wink

I was going to say, to the original poster and to anyone: if you haven't seen "Horror in the Heights" (the Kolchak episode), RUN DON'T WALK to track it down! Excellent. Just like the whole damn show.

And Phil Silvers is in that episode, just to ice the cake.

He is sort of an annoying kvetch, but funny as hell! I agree that the series is awesome, campy, and fun.
Not only this, which is just way cool, but also a comment about what FPW said and Webby's reply. I think it must be so. Of course the creations in the stories must be the "real" deal and the legends be drawn from them. I'm sure, like Webby, that all here would hold to that view.

I use to be a huge x-file fan so I've been meaning to watch Kolchak for *ages*

Well you should because the character of Fox Mulder is loosely based on that of Kolchak from the Night Stalker. For a little bit of historical interest in this vein I am currently reading a non-fiction book by Peter Levenda; "Sinister Forces" in which he breifly mentions that, at least during the late 40's and early 50's, the FBI had a real X files, demoted as "Security Matter X" or "SM-X", and some of this material was in relation to UFO's and memos with the denotation have been discovered authored by Guy Bannister, FBI, SAC during the period of Arnold's UFO sighting as well as Roswell, etc.. Very curious and interesting.

Very interesting news, but I never heard of it Big Grin

The Kolchak "Horror in the Heights" episode was broadcast on October 5 and, if they keep to rotation, might be broadcast again in late December.
