Hello!

I'm a newbie to the world of Repairman Jack. Just finished ALL THE RAGE and have started NIGHTWORLD (Yeah, I know it's out of order, but I'm having trouble finding THE TOMB). I'm hooked. Good stuff!!!

So keep up the good work!!!

Welcome to the board! I'd advice holding off on NIGHTWORLD as it isn't really a RJ book. It's the final book in The Adversary Cycle and if you haven't read the previous four books then you'll really be doing yourself a disservice. Hold off on NIGHTWORLD until you can read THE KEEP, THE TOUCH, THE TOMB, REBORN, and REPRISAL.

Noted, but that's gonna be hard to do, since I've read a hundred pages of it already and it's addictive lol!!!

I saw THE KEEP in a local Borders. Maybe I'll run out there and get it when the next pay day comes

It does come down like a hammer on your head alright. If you are having trouble locating the books, http://www.abebooks.com/ generally has them available for reasonable rates. Also, a specially priced version of The Tomb, under its original title, Rakoshi, is coming out soon. The news section of the board can give you more specifics. And by all means don't limit yourself to just the RJ series, FPW's entire oeuvre is worth a read.

Well, since you're a hundred pages into it.......... I say go for it! (Ha, that felt good!) He's rewriting it anyway so it's anyone s guess now. The only downfall is knowing more than you should when reading "The Adversary Cycle". But isn't knowledge power? ;)

Welcome to the board!

Welcome to the board, MaxwellSilverHammer! Hey,that's cool name! :D

Did you read "Hosts" or "The Haunted Air" ? "The Haunted Air" is my favorite RJ novel. If you haven't read them yet, After NIGHTWORLD, check them.

Enjoy your reading!

Hi., I am new to the Repairman Jack series and am having a hard time getting the first few book. They are on order so I know they are coming. My question is, can I start reading what I have or should I wait for the first ones? I am so looking foreward to these books.

Which books do you have? With a list, someone can guide you. I'm a prime example of one that reads out of order. It can be done, but sometimes you'll ask dumb questions like me! Also check out the books and cross reference sections on the header of the forum. Much to be learned there. Good reading and if I may, Welcome!

It's probably better to read them in order since certain surprises would be ruined. But is it necessary? No. They are all pretty much stand-alone.

If you want to read them in order...

The Tomb
Legacies
Conspiracies
All the rage
Hosts
The Haunted air
Gateways
Crisscross
Infernal

and, latest book, Harbingers.

But, as Marc said, those books are stand-alone. Each book has a different story.

Enjoy!

DON'T DO IT!!!!!! I am convinced that reading the books in order makes your adventure into the RJ world much more enjoyable. While they are stand alone novels the underlying story is easier to follow if things are kept in order. References in RJ books are made to previous books and "fix-its" done in previous ones. ( did that make any since?) Any way.....My advice is to read in order.

Excellent advise! I was assuming he had little will power like me!;) I think because I've read alot of them out of order, I've found some links that aren't obvious when read in order. Also don't forget about the reread value of these books. They never get boring for me and I always find something new.
