The other interesting thing about the Japanese editions is that they are broken into two novels. I assume this is because if someone doesn't like the book they aren't out as much cash. The covers seem to be identical except for an identificiation number.

I think it's a binding thing. They're sold as a pair bound with a paper ribbon.

I think we get the sillouette and chain because all the repair man jack books have a sillouette on the cover. That's not how I'd pictured the rakoshi, but it's still awesome.

I never noticed that. I went to the books section here and l took a look and holy crap, they do , well. all except Gateways. that has an actuall picture on it. is that supposed to be Jack ????

This is it!! I have This novel.　「マンハッタンの戦慄(Manhattan no senritsu)」。This publisher is Sankei Bunko. This publisher did insolvency. That's why this book is very rare.

Ya know, Japanese editions are almost broken into two novels. The Keep,Reprisal,Nightword,Black Wind,Sibs,The Touch,Virgin,The Tomb,Legacies,All the Rage.This is all two part novels.

You said, "if someone doesn't like the book they......." , Nah, it's not. :) Japanese people are NOT miser. When I buy novels, I always buy both of vol.1 and vol.2 ;)
