I bet it takes me over a year to hit the "Senior" level. Either I just don't have time to post like I used to or I don't have time to post like I used to. I'll have to look into that.

Mike, when, oh when, will you ever pick an avatar?
And you too, Paul?

Ken does. You know, the guy who was never going to be able to figure out this new message board. :D

Never was!?! Still haven't!
At that time, Kaye had a number of very bad days in a row, and I was getting seriously depressed -- it happens.

Thank you, Ken, and thank you all on this momentous occasion. I have a few brief remarks here, which I'd like to share with everyone...
Nah. Later for that. But Biggles did wonder about the hierarchy. I believe it goes like this--
JUNIOR MEMBER
MEMBER
SENIOR MEMBER
GALACTIC BEING
COSMIC ENTITY
And after that, well, opinions differ. But here's the idea I like the best. Remember the end of A SPACE ODYSSEY--the light show? Some say you become part of it.

A friend who knows all about string instruments tells me an avatar is like a banjo--you don't "pick" it, you "frail" it.

"Galactic Being". I like that. I'll have to have my wife call me that from now on, instead of "my Lord and Master" as she does now. BTW, I always thought it was a pity I was addressed as "your Honor" instead of "M'Lord" as they do it across the Pond. They can keep their powdered wigs though. I understand they're hot and itchy.

"Galactic Being" does sound good doesn't it? Perhaps we should talk to "Admin," or "ethink" about that. Say 500 posts for Galactic Being . . . 1000 for Cosmic Entity?
"My Lord and Master?" You're lucky! Kaye never called ME that!
"It's getting late and we want to make an early start to Catalina tomorrow. Let's go Chump!" :D
"That's CHAMP!"
"I enunciated most carefully." :D
"Rodney Dangerfield thinks HE has it bad!" . . . :D

Good possibility, but I think we'd need some intermediate rankings before GALACTIC BEING. Otherwise, at the rate some of us post, we'd be hip-deep in COSMIC ENTITIES before long, with who-knows-what consequences to the fabric of space and time. How about REGULAR AT JULIO'S? ABE'S VALUED CUSTOMER?

I LIKE IT!
Shall we flip a coin to see who gets to ask ethink and admin if they are willing to do it?
What do you think FPW? Say 500 messages to become a "REGULAR AT JULIO'S?" 1000 to become "ABE'S VALUED CUSTOMER?"
'Twould be fun.

Don't worry Bluesman. I would never hold a cool dude like you in contempt.
BTW, what do you think about George Thorogood and the Destroyers doing RJ's theme? "Bad to the Bone" was already taken by Stephen King for "Christine" (whose leading lady I would take for a ride any time--I'm talkin' 'bout the '58 Fury), but maybe new lyrics for "I drink alone", like "I work alone"? RJ's a loner and I think Thorogood's music really fits his personality.

George Thorogood is great, but I would think that RJ is a bit more subdued and mellow and would require a more blues-y approach. Thorogood puts out way too much energy... I saw him in concert once, and when his band took a 10-minute break, he stayed on stage for a guitar solo that nearly blew the roof off the concert hall.

I wish I had been there. I'll bet it was b-b-b-bad!

Thorogood is amazing. My favorite remains "It Wasn't Me," an old Chuck Berry trune that he goosed up the butt with 10,000 watts of electricity.

Do you think he would be a good artist to come up with some music for Jack's movie? I like the way he's rough around the edges, like Jack.

Thorogood, blues of any sort... who else could contribute to the soundtrack? Who'd compose a good score?

What's Pete Townshend up to? Or Peter Gabriel? Both of those guys can serve up rock with a side order of blues. Or what about Tangerine Dream?

Now, that's a good idea, Biggles. George Thorogood would be perfect. Maybe a scene of Jack in Julio's, just a verse and chorus and fade of a rewritten "I Drink Alone." And a whole new song for the opening and credits.

There was a good interview with Pete in last month's UNCUT magazine. He vowed that after his experience with Ken Russell and the TOMMY soundtrack, he'll never do film work again. Pete said he was offered the BLADE RUNNER gig, but turned it down. (I didn't know that...) Tangerine Dream might be good to write "Rasalom's Theme" later on down the road. :D
