An impressive list of editors sign on for author pitch meetings
NEW YORK, February 18. – World Horror 2005 is pleased to announce F. Paul Wilson as this year’s Grand Master Award Winner. Wilson joins past winners including Stephen King, Peter Straub, Chelsea Quinn Yarbro, Charles L. Grant, and Robert Bloch. The Grand Master Award will be presented to Wilson during the weekend’s opening ceremonies and will remain on display throughout the convention.
Wilson is the acclaimed author of more than thirty books, including Sims, The Keep, The Tomb, The Haunted Air, All The Rage, Hosts, Midnight Mass and Gateways. A New York Times Bestselling author, Wilson’s novels and short fiction have regularly appeared on the final ballots for the World Fantasy Award, the Nebula Award, and the Bram Stoker Award.
Author pitch meetings are a traditional highlight of the World Horror Convention. This year we have enlisted prominent names in novel and comic publishing, the film industry and literary agencies, including representatives from Tor Books, Leisure Books, Dimension Films, DC Comics and many more. Bring your best ideas for the best in the business. You need to get your registration in to take advantage of this opportunity. The meeting schedule is filling up fast! The list of attending representatives is subject to change, and all meetings will be scheduled at the discretion of the Pitch Meeting Liaison. Though registered attendees may request which industry segment they wish to present to – book, comic, film or author’s representative – all final decisions will be made by the Liaison.
