In the 4-13-04 issue of _Atlas_: Is it possible for peaceful individuals ever to have their fundamental rights "taken away" from them?

Plus, short commentary on Objectivism as religion, the 9-11 Commission, Iraq, and taxes.

My initial response to your question, without reading the article, is YES, of course it is. And the more "peaceful" you are, the easier it is for them to be taken away.

I will read your article now.

Read your article -- well, skimmed it actually.

You were dealing with the subject on a more philosophical base. So, I will modify my answer in this way:

Your rights are yours by virtue of the fact that you are a living breathing human being. In that sense they can NEVER be taken away. What CAN be taken away is your ability to exercise them.

Their, that's more better. :D
